Project 1: Planting tree application

Context

when? where? who? why?

As global warming progresses, extreme weather is occurring around the world. There is a high degree of overlap between the regions of the world exposed to various types of extreme weather and the distribution of the world's poor population. Poverty eradication is inextricably linked to environmental protection. Increasing global greenery plays a huge role in combating global warming.The planting of trees to increase global greenery,on the one hand, can help absorbing greenhouse gases to mitigate warming, One the other hand, it protects against wind and sand and helps to protect human communities in the event of weather disasters.So Our idea is to developp an application that would help people to donate to plant trees around the world,especially for the places that extremely influenced by climate disaster.

Target

For Whom?

This app is for those residents who are highly environmentally conscious and concerned about climate change. There are people who live in cities but are concerned about the common destiny of mankind, but often they don't know how to turn their wishes into action. They know that planting trees would be good for the world's response to global weather extremes,but they don't know exactly how to do it. Or because they are in cities,they don't have the means to go to places that are affected by climate extremes and plant a tree themselves. Therefore, we wanted to provide a platform to help change the world to help these residents as well.

What ? How?

On our App, we provide a lot of information about plant cultivation, such as specific gardening methods and selection method of plant species according to the growing environment. Of course, we will emphasize the role of greening in dealing with extreme global climate change. If the user wants to plant a tree personally, we are very happy to provide them with specific guidelines for planting a tree. We can help him choose the right seed according to the location of the tree. For those who can not plant a tree by itself for some objective reasons, such as long distance between its home and the location he want to plant the trees, he can choose to donate the fund. We will hire local residents or choose suitable volunteers in some places that are prone to extreme weather to plant this tree. And the tree will be named by name of the person. Also, he can see the tree through our built-in map app on mobile phone, and our volunteers will update the tree's growth status in time. He can feel the same happiness as plant a tree by himeself.

  • ONE TREE PLANTED This project allow people to donate one dolloar for one tree. It also allows people to join the tre planting events started by individuals. You can choose to plant a tree in Africe, North America, Latin America, Asia & Pacific. Also, they cooperate with business who want to make an impact and help improve their sustainability initiatives.
    Oue differentiations:
    1. We have seeds delivery service.
    If the user wants to plant a tree personally, we are very happy to provide them with specific guidelines for planting a tree. We can help him choose the right seed according to the location of the tree.
    2. Every tree has a name
    The tree will be named by the name of the donator, or anything the donator want.
    3. Built-in map Seeds donators can see the tree through our built-in map app on mobile phone, and our volunteers will update the tree's growth status in time. This sense of paticipating will be fantasitic for a donator.

Project 2: An app full of voluntary events

Context

What is well known is that the fight against global warming requires not only the unification of governments, but more importantly, the actions of everyone in our society. It is possible that if each individual makes a little bit of change,the world will make differences.There are already many volunteer teams working to integrate the power of society and provide social volunteerism. But the power of team alone is not sufficient, and they require help of the public. As ordinary people in the society, we also want to do some volunteer activities in the social life, but usually we can not get the relevant information in a timely manner since many public service organizations don't have a good channel for publicity . That's why we want to provide a volunteer platform to bridge the gap between NGO organizations and people.

Our app is open to a wide range of social organizations and general users. Our goal is to build a bridge for them and provide a better channel for information exchange.

What ? How?

In our app, different social organizations can advertise their activities on our platform. These organizations need to clearly outline the time and qualification requirements for these services. Ordinary users can use our platform to select the volunteer service that suits their needs. The platform provides basic organization-oriented auditing, but the organization is responsible for the specific volunteering activities it performs.

DOSOMETHING.ORG Using our digital platform, DoSomething members join our volunteer, social change, and civic action campaigns to make real-world impact on causes they care about. This websites aloow people to join all kinds of social events such as "stress less", "go there grenner". You can take pictures then submit it on the website.They coorparate with the community in US and Canada, people can win scholarship by joining campaings, scholarship winners are selected through a random drawing. Winners of each campaign will typically be announced 3 to 4 weeks after the close of the campaign and notified via text message or email.

Our differentiation:

  1. Different focus: We focus on the environmental events such as picking up garbage, produce less garbage...
  2. Different target: Do something.org targeted in young people under 25 yars old while our project targete all ages people
  3. Different bonus: Once you finished one project, you will get equal credits, We plan to work with different business who want to contribute to sustainable developement. When you earn enough credits, you will get awards such as coupon, gift card, little bonus that provided by our joint companies.
  4. Off-line apporach: Once you joined the events, you can meet the other people in face, we encourage physical team work.
  5. Individual/Organazition : We have two segmentations of our events, one started by individuals,the other started by big organizations.
